Illinois drivers are being warned to watch out for piglets on the roadway.

Piglets

Illinois State Police say that thousands of piglets are on the loose following a semi truck rollover crash on a busy interstate.

Troopers say that the crash happened on the morning of Friday, March 22, on I-70 between Casey and Greenup.

According to police, a livestock truck overturned near mile marker 127, causing many of the 3000 piglets that the truck was transporting to escape from the trailer.

Troopers say that they are on scene working to corral the piglets, but they are warning drivers to watch out for the escaped animals.

No injuries were reported.

It isn’t yet clear why the semi truck overturned.
