Truck driver shot in apparent road rage incident

A truck driver survived after he was shot during a suspected road rage incident on a Virginia roadway this afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday in Chesterfield County, Virginia, according to Richmond.com.

Authorities say that a truck driver traveling on Chippenham Parkway near the Jefferson Davis Highway interchange was shot by another person in a vehicle.

Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and pursued it into Richmond, where it eventually stopped. More than one suspect was reportedly taken into custody.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
