Authorities say that a truck driver lost his life in a fiery crash on the New Jersey Turnpike last night.
The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in Carteret, New Jersey.
Police say that a truck driver hauling a load of fruit northbound on the New Jersey Turnpike lost control near Exit 12, striking a left barrier and guardrail and then crashing off of the overpass onto the Norfolk Southern Railway railroad tracks below.

The truck caught fire after it fell from the overpass, sending dense, heavy smoke up into the air.
The truck driver passed away at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The identity of the truck driver has not yet been released.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
