West Virginia State Police say that a truck driver is facing multiple charges following a police pursuit on the West Virginia Turnpike.
The incident began around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, when 37 year old Alabama-based truck driver Maurice Loyd refused to pay a toll on the West Virginia Turnpike, according to Fox 11.
State troopers were dispatched to Barrier B North. Loyd reportedly argued with troopers, continued to refuse to pay the toll, and then jumped back in his semi truck and fled the scene, ignoring orders to stop.
Troopers say that Loyd continued along northbound I-77 for about 20 miles to mile marker 74, where he pulled his truck over and surrendered without further incident.
West Virginia State Police say that Loyd was charged with fingerprint refusal, obstructing, and fleeing in a motor vehicle.
