Trucker plays Santa for kids of Celadon drivers

In the wake of the devastating bankruptcy and closure of mega carrier Celadon, one truck driver is doing all he can to make sure that the holidays still happen for the families of the laid off employees.

Over the weekend, the trucking industry was stunned by the news that 4000 Celadon workers would be out of a job just weeks before Christmas. The sudden closure left former Celadon drivers desperate for answers, uncertain about whether their fuel cards would continue to work, worried about how they’d get home, and — worst of all — unsure about how they’d make ends meet for their families for the holidays.

YouTube user and truck driver Chad Rich is working to help the families of the displaced drivers by making sure that there are presents under the tree.

Rich explains his plan and why he felt like he needed to act on behalf of the laid off drivers in the video below.
