Trucker robbed by three suspects who fled into woods

Published:

North Carolina police are searching for three suspects who robbed a truck driver at a truck stop this morning.

The robbery occurred around 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17 in Mebane, North Carolina, according to Mebane Enterprise.

Police say that three suspects robbed a truck driver at the Petro truck stop located on Buckhorn Road.

The unnamed truck driver was able to puncture the tire of the suspects’ vehicle after he was robbed, so the three suspects all fled into a nearby wooded area.

It isn’t clear how much money the suspects stole from the truck driver.

A nearby school was placed on soft lockdown as a precaution.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Mebane Police Department in their search for the suspects.

The suspects are described as three males, all in their 20’s. One of the suspects was wearing a brown shirt.

The incident is still under investigation.
