A truck driver is lucky to have survived after his 18 wheeler drove off of a Texas overpass and landed on the roadway below.

The incident happened during rainy conditions on 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, in San Antonio, Texas, according to KENS5.

Truck driver Roderick Thomas was traveling on southbound I-35 when he says that he swerved to avoid a car that cut him off, causing his truck to crash through the guardrail and fall off of the overpass, breaking open and spilling its cargo.

Thomas was not injured in the crash, but his truck suffered massive damage.

No other vehicles were involved.

Thomas said, “Man the good Lord was watching over me. I just came off the rail and held on for life and prayed and I’m still here.”

Police are still investigating the crash.
