A truck driver was shot during a robbery attempt outside of a facility where he was scheduled to make a delivery this morning, Alabama police say.
Police were called to the scene at the American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO) facility in Birmingham just before 4 a.m. on Friday, May 10, according to AL.com.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a 65 year old truck driver who had been shot in the leg.
No other injuries were reported.
The truck driver told officers that he was waiting to enter the ACIPCO facility when at least two black males in a vehicle attempted to rob him. The trucker said that as he was getting back into his truck, the suspects opened fire on him and fled the scene.
The truck driver was transported to the hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
No arrests have been made at this time. Police are still investigating the incident.
