Trucker ‘takes the ditch’ to avoid stopped police cruiser

Published:

A local news crew captured startling video of a truck driver making a last minute save to avoid hitting a parked police cruiser in Pennsylvania.

The incident was caught camera around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, on I-81 in West Hanover Township, Pennsylvania.

Officers were already on scene investigating the prior shooting death of a motorist whose body was found outside his vehicle near mile marker 75 on I-81.

As police were investigating, a semi truck driver who came upon slowed traffic for the investigation was unable to slow in time to stop and crashed off of the interstate, jackknifing into a wooded area off the road in order to avoid hitting a parked police car and the officer walking towards it.

The incident is still under investigation.
