Shocking new dash cam video captured this week in California shows the moment that a semi truck smashes into an out of control car.
The crash occurred on Monday, May 13, around 12:30 p.m. in Santa Ana, California, according to ABC7.
Police say that two men were traveling in a white Accura near West McFadden Street when their car was clipped by a stake bed truck in an intersection, causing the driver to lose control and sending the Accura into the path of an oncoming semi truck.
The Accura initially came to rest on its roof, but a group of Good Samaritans helped flip the car back over. Both occupants suffered critical injuries in the crash.
The truck driver wasn’t hurt.
Police say that it isn’t clear whether the stake bed truck driver ran a red light and that the crash remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to call Santa Ana police at 714-245-8284.
