Trucker’s lane change triggers frightening rollover crash on Houston highway

Published:

A motorist’s dash cam captured a serious multi-vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital earlier this week.

The crash happened on eastbound  U.S. 290 in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday, July 9, according to reporting from Click2Houston.

In the dash cam clip, a semi truck driver attempts to change lanes and strikes a black Ford Focus. The out of control Focus then slams into an SUV, causing the SUV to roll several times.

Two people in the SUV were taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. No one else was seriously hurt.

The truck driver reportedly told Houston police that he didn’t see the car because it was in his blind spot. Police say that they charged the truck driver for an unsafe lane change.
