West Virginia police arrested two men following a crash and a fight in a truck stop parking lot that left a truck driver with stab wounds.
Police were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at the TA truck stop in Putnam County, West Virginia, according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male trucker who had been stabbed in the leg and abdomen.
Police say that an altercation started following “a minor vehicle crash” between the victim and two suspects, Arkansas residents Matthew and David Threlkeld.
According to police, after the crash, “both Threlkeld’s physically attacked the victim. During the physical confrontation Matthew Threlkeld produced a small folding style knife and stabbed the victim twice.”
The truck driver who was stabbed was transported to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Police later searched the Threlkeld’s vehicle and found a small folding knife stained with what appeared to be blood.
Though the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department did not identify whether the Threlkelds were truckers, WSAZ reports that Matthew Threlkeld is also a truck driver.
Matthew Threlkeld was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. David Threlkeld was arrested and charged with battery.
