Video captures multiple semis stranded on interstate by flood

Published:

A viral video captured in Oklahoma shows how dangerous it is to drive through floodwaters — even if you’re in a semi truck.

The video was captured on I-40 around 7 a.m. on May 8 near Hext, Oklahoma. Flash flooding in the area caused by heavy rain resulted in multiple reports of cars and semi trucks under water.

The video clip was shared by Oklahoma weather forecaster Emily Sutton, who writes:

Check out this crazy video of semis and cars stranded in flood waters near the Hext exit on I-40 (in between Sayre and Erick) at 7AM. This part of the state received more than a half of a foot of rain overnight/this morning!

In just a few hours, the video has already been viewed more than 15,000 times.
