Wisconsin State Police say that the pileup began on I-39/90 when a semi truck struck a tow truck that was assisting with a minor crash, causing the tow truck to strike the tow truck driver.

This initial crash led to a series of resulting crashes that ultimately involved 24 vehicles.

Both the tow truck driver and the semi truck driver involved in the initial crash were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
