A major logistics provider plans to lay off hundreds of workers in the next few weeks as they end operations at a facility in Texas.

XPO Logistics plans to end operations at a Dallas facility located at 2801 Market Street due to the termination of a customer contract, the company told the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).

As a result of the closure of the facility, the company will lay off 243 workers.

The layoffs will begin July 17, 2020.

In a WARN letter to the TWC, XPO Logistics writes that “the customer will be continuing operations at 2801 Market Street. It is our further understanding that our customer may offer continued employment to our current employees.”

XPO Logistics says that they will work to find jobs for any employees who are not offered employment by the customer.

XPO Logistics is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, and is a global logistics provider operating in 30 countries with approximately 97,000 employees worldwide.
