$3.1 MILLION worth of liquid meth found in truck’s fuel tanks

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently seized more than $3 million worth of alleged methamphetamine from a truck at a Texas border crossing.

CBP agents made the major drug bust on June 19 at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge cargo facility in Pharr, Texas.

Officers referred a truck with a commercial shipment of automotive parts arriving from Mexico for further inspection.

During that secondary inspection, they discovered 155.5 pounds of suspected liquid methamphetamine hidden in the truck’s fuel tanks.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $3,108,000.

The suspected meth and the truck’s load were seized by CBP. The investigation into the incident was handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

“This was an outstanding interception of hard narcotics that our officers accomplished utilizing all available tools and resources,” said Carlos Rodriguez, Port Director, Hidalgo/ Pharr/Anzalduas. “Our officers’ resourcefulness and thoroughness in conducting their enforcement examinations counter schemes utilized by drug-smuggling organizations.”
