$95K worth of custom guitars go missing from semi trailer at Indiana truck stop

Published:

Police are looking for information after a pallet of custom Gibson guitars went missing from a truck parked

The cargo theft occurred on October 30 at a Flying J Travel Center located in Whiteland, Indiana.

The truck was en route to Sweetwater Sound headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The 13 stolen 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom guitars were designed by Tool guitarist  Adam Jones.

“Somehow out of a truck full of guitars, this ONE pallet was singled out and stolen at a truck stop,” says Sweetwater Chief Supply Chain and Merchandising Officer Phil Rich. “With a retail value of $95,000 in guitars, we feel this person/s knew exactly what to look for and when.”

Anyone with information on the cargo theft is asked to reach out to Detective Kenny Polley of the Whiteland Police Department at [email protected] or (317) 535-8100.
