Argument over working conditions at trucking co. ends with 2 family members dead

Published:

Texas police say that two men who worked together at a trucking company are dead following a murder-suicide on Tuesday.

The shooting incident occurred just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, at JTM Transport Inc. in San Antonio, MySanAntonio.com reports.

Police say that 47 year old Jaime T. Martinez and family member Baldemar Martinez-Tamez, 56, had been arguing for some time over working conditions at JTM Transport, where both men worked.

Police say that Martinez-Tamez walked into work and shot Martinez several times at the trucking company facilities.

Martinez was later taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Martinez-Tamez then reportedly drove away from the scene.

Officers found Martinez-Tamez’s vehicle parked at a Family Dollar store location about three miles from the trucking company facility.

Martinez-Tamez was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound to the head. Police believe that the gunshot was self-inflicted.

Investigators say that the argument between Martinez-Tamez and Martinez had been going on for weeks. Several news outlets have identified the two men as brothers, but police have failed to confirm their relationship.

The incident remains under investigation.

I’m at a loss for words for what happen yesterday to my father Jaime Martinez. I want to thank everyone for your support and love. Lost but ever forgotten. His Legacy will live on thru us. JTM transport.
