Border Patrol discovers 23 illegal immigrants in tractor-trailer stuck on railroad tracks

Border Patrol agents in Laredo, Texas apprehended 23 illegal immigrants from a semi-truck in a failed human smuggling attempt.

The incident occurred on August 3.

According to a press release from the U.S Customs and Border Protection, agents from the Laredo North Station responded to assist Webb County Sheriff’s Office deputies with a white tractor-trailer that was stuck on the railroad tracks near Interstate Highway 35, mile marker 14.

Once there, deputies discovered 23 individuals being transported in the trailer.

The individuals were illegally in the United States from Mexico and Honduras.

The individuals were taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol and the driver, a U.S citizen, was arrested by authorities.
