Construction waste catches fire in transit, forcing driver to dump the burning materials

Published:

A driver dumped his load along a highway in Canada on Tuesday after the materials caught fire in-transit.

The incident happened on September 8th at around 1 p.m. in Ottawa, Canada.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, the dump truck driver was hauling construction waste eastbound along Highway 417 at Boundary Road when they noticed the load had caught fire.

Jumping into action, the driver quickly pulled over and dumped the burning materials, preventing the rest of the truck from catching fire and avoiding serious injury.

First responders and heavy equipment were called in to spread out the debris in order to more fully extinguish the flames. The material has since been successfully cleared from the roadway and no injuries were reported.
