Cop reportedly crashes into truck after glancing down at computer

Published:

A San Antonio police officer was injured early this morning after he reportedly crashed into a truck moments after looking at his laptop computer.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Friday morning near AT&T Center Parkway and Aniol Street in San Antonio, Texas.

A police officer had just clocked off duty and was southbound on AT&T Center Parkway on his way back to the police station when he allegedly glanced down at his computer, local news outlet Ken 5 reports.

The officer said that by the time he looked back up at the road, there was a commercial vehicle in his path, turning from Aniol Street onto northbound AT&T Center Parkway. The officer said that he wasn’t able to avoid hitting the truck.

The police cruiser struck the left side of the trailer, becoming partially wedged underneath.

The police officer was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver wasn’t hurt.
