Cow runs loose on major interstate after escaping wrecked cattle hauler

Published:

A cow escaped a wrecked cattle hauler and ran loose on a highway in California on Wednesday.

The accident happened on November 11th on eastbound Interstate 80 near Rocklin, California.

According to CBS Sacramento, the cattle hauler was sideswiped by another semi truck, which damaged the trailer and left a hole big enough for a cow to escape through.

California Highway Patrol says the cow was able to escape the trailer and run down the interstate without being caught. Luckily, an officer was able to block the hole with his patrol car before any other cattle could enter the roadway.

As of 2:30 p.m, officers were still working with animal control to wrangle the cow, causing significant delays. As of 5:05 p.m., slow traffic was still being reported in the area.
