Crash causes fireworks to ‘actively explode’ in semi trailer

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a crash involving a semi truck hauling fireworks that left multiple people injured.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. on June 19 south of Uehling, Nebraska.

Troopers say that an SUV and a semi truck collided at the intersection of Highway 77 and Road F in Dodge County.

By the time that Nebraska State troopers arrived on the scene, the semi truck, which was hauling fireworks, was fully engulfed in flames “with fireworks in the trailer actively exploding.”

Both people in the SUV were transported to the hospital for treatment.
