A truck driver has been cited for failure to perform the duties of a driver after failing to report a wreck that seriously damaged a bridge in Oregon this week.

The accident happened on Monday, November 2nd in Roseburg, Oregon.

According to KQEN News, the 59-year-old unnamed truck driver was traveling across Green Bridge on Stewart Park Drive when he drifted to the left and struck two upper bridge supports.

The force of the impact tore open the front of the trailer and bent the two bridge supports. The driver then failed to report the incident to authorities and left the scene.

The following day, Tuesday, November 3rd, officials were able to contact the driver at his trucking company’s office, where he was cited with “failure to perform the duties of a driver.”
