Driver flown to hospital after truck hauling wind turbine rolls

A truck driver was flown to a hospital on Saturday after his truck overturned while hauling wind turbine equipment. 

The wreck occurred at around 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd just outside of Alice, Texas. 

According to the Record Star, the tractor trailer was hauling the wind turbine equipment near State Highway 359 and State Highway 44 eastbound when it overturned, smashing the cab of the truck. 

The unnamed truck driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was quickly life-flighted to a nearby hospital. However, Sgt. Nathan Brandley, a spokesman for the Texas Dept. of Public Safety, described the driver’s injuries as ‘non-life threatening.’

The exact cause of the crash is still unknown. The Department of Public Safety is investigating.
