Driver okay after tanker truck barrel rolls off I-94

Published:

A truck driver sustained only non-life threatening injuries in a wreck that sent his rig rolling off of Interstate 94 early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened on December 2nd at around 2:00 a.m. in Chicago, Illinois.

ABC 7 reports that the tanker truck was heading north on Interstate 94, the Bishop Ford Expressway, near 103rd street when it collided with a car.

The force of the impact separated the tanker trailer from the cab and sent the tanker rolling off the highway bridge and down onto the ramp below, while the cab was left dangling from the bridge.

First responders say that the unnamed truck driver’s injuries were serious, but not life-threatening, and they are expected to recover.

The incident has since been cleared.
