Drivers urged to stay off of I-90 in Montana following ‘multiple’ semi truck accidents

Motorists are being asked to avoid portions of Interstate 90 in Montana, in both directions, after multiple weather-related accidents have occurred.

According to a the Sweet Grass Co Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, multiple accidents have shut down portions of I-90, both east and west of Big Timber, are shut down. Currently, eastbound I-90 at mile post 388.5 is down to one lane, and there is a semi in the median at the mile post 354. Westbound I90 has an active accident at the 383 and the westbound off ramp is blocked at the 370 by a semi.

Sweet Grass County is located in the southwest portion of the state, just east of Bozeman.

“Multiple accidents involving semi tractor-trailers are closing portions of Interstate 90 both east and west of Big Timber. The interstate is very slick. Please stay off the Interstate if you don’t have to travel right now. If you must be on the Interstate, please drive slowly and watch for emergency responders and be aware of changing road conditions.” the Sweet Grass Co Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook.
