Drowsy driving results in fatal head-on collision between big rig, car

A  woman was killed earlier this week after being struck head-on by a drowsy truck driver, police say. 

The accident happened on Wednesday, October 21st northwest of Dubois, Wyoming. 

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the semi truck was heading eastbound on Highway 26/287 near mile marker 29.7 when the driver apparently fell asleep. The truck then crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming vehicle. 

The collision killed the 62-year-old motorist, Jo Anne Meeker, and injured the unnamed truck driver – though the extent of the truck driver’s injuries are unclear. 

No other information has been released.
