Troopers say that the truck driver was traveling on westbound I-270 when her truck stalled in an active lane of traffic.

As she was setting out traffic triangles to warn other drivers about her broken down vehicle, she was struck by a car while standing near the rear of her truck.

The woman died at the scene.

The car driver stayed at the scene.

The incident is under investigation.

Two lanes of westbound I-270 are expected to remain closed through the evening rush hour due to the fatal crash.
