Five killed after SUV rear-ended stopped semi

Tennessee police are asking the public for information following an SUV vs. semi truck crash that claimed several lives on Monday.

The crash occurred at 10:17 a.m. on November 30 on I-24 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Police say that a semi truck was stopped on the right shoulder in the eastbound lanes of the interstate, out of the active lanes of traffic.

A Honda Odyssey that was also eastbound on I-24 veered off of the interstate and collided with the stopped truck.

Four males and one female inside the Honda were all pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver wasn’t hurt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
