Free meal for current and former military members on Veterans Day at major truck stop chain

TravelCenters of America says that military members and veterans will eat for free at truck stop locations across the country on Veterans Day.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2020, all active-duty military, veterans, and reservists will be eligible for a free meal at participating TravelCenters of America locations, including quick-service restaurants and at Country Pride and Iron Skillet locations nationwide.

To receive the free meal, one must show proof of service, which could include a U.S. Uniformed Services ID card, current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), veterans organization membership card, photograph in uniform, DD214 form, or a citation or commendation.

In addition to the free meal for those who have served, Country Pride and Iron Skillet restaurants will be featuring “Fallen Soldier Tables” on Veterans Day. The company says that the single place setting at an empty table is a way to remember those who gave their lives in military service.

“We’re honored to serve many active-duty and veteran military every day and it’s important to us that we recognize those who have fought for our freedom,” said Barry Richards, president of TA. “Veterans Day is the perfect opportunity to give back and show our appreciation and respect to all who have served.”
