Georgia QuikTrip crash leaves semi truck overturned, 10 vehicles damaged

Georgia police are investigating after a semi truck driver reportedly lost control following a collision with another vehicle, overturning and crashing into a gas station parking lot.

The crash was reported around 7 a.m. on Thursday in Norcross, Georgia.

Early reports indicate that the semi truck was involved in a crash with two passenger vehicles that were stopped at a traffic light on westbound Jimmy Carter Boulevard. This crash caused the truck driver to lose control and veer off the roadway, down an embankment, and into the gas station parking lot.

Police say that 10 vehicles were damaged.

One person was trapped in their car and had to be extracted. That person was transported to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Major traffic delays have been reported in the area.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that the truck was hauling nine large rolls of paper weighting 5,500 pounds each.
