Georgia Truck Driver Involved in Terrifying Road Rage Encounter

A terrifying road rage encounter was captured on cell phone video.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on Interstate 91 in Miami Gardens. According to Ardwens Estivene, he and his girlfriend were driving north on the interstate when they said they saw a truck driving erratically near the Florida Turnpike on-ramp.

The cell phone video does not show the entire encounter and it is unclear what spurred the road rage incident; however, Estivene told Local 10 News that the truck cut him off; however, the truck driver said that Estivene began brake checking him.

The video shows the truck speeding up behind Estivene’s Nissan Altima and then pulling alongside the car. On the video, you can hear a gun being fired and Estivine’s girlfriend screaming as she records the video.

In an interview with 7 News Miami, the truck driver, Randall Vaughters, 67, said that he’s “just sorry it escalated to the point it did, and I should’ve known better. Road rage is never something that you should take lightly. If you get in a road rage incident, just back off, pull to the side, which I tried to do, but this dude would not let in. He kept on and on and on, but me being in a semi, I’m at fault.”

Vaughters told Local 10 News, “It should have happened, but that other guy, he’s not as innocent as he says he is. He’s the one that started this, whipping over in front of me, break checking, shooting me birds.”

Vaughters was arrested and charged with 1 count of discharging a firearm in public and 2 counts of aggravated assault. His bond was set at $8,500.
