A Nebraska-based motor carrier is giving drivers one less thing to worry about with a new, easy to understand compensation package offering guaranteed pay.
Company Rolls Out Straightforward, Seniority-Based Pay Package
Effective November 30, 2020, South Sioux City-based K&B Transportation Inc. will debut a simple seniority-based pay program that increases starting driver pay from 50 CPM to an impressive 54 CPM — no sliding pay scales and no strings attached. As drivers advance in their careers, they can earn up to 58 CPM. Any bonuses that drivers earn for safety, passing inspections, or referrals are added on top of the guaranteed CPM.
K&B is combining the pay bump with a guaranteed 2500 miles per week.. This means that drivers will take home a guaranteed weekly amount of at least $1,350 — and those who are motivated to earn more have multiple opportunities to increase this figure substantially, the company says. Delays are an inevitable part of trucking — especially during the winter months — but K&B company leaders say that having a bad week should never cut into a driver’s paycheck.

Newer Equipment Makes Driver Life A Little More Comfortable
Another major perk for K&B Transportation drivers is the opportunity to operate late model equipment that provides them with higher levels of comfort and performance. The K&B Transportation fleet is made up of newer model Freightliner Cascadias equipped with Detroit DD 13 engines, DT 12 automatic transmissions, APUs, Cobra 29 CBs, refrigerators, and 2,000-watt power inverters. Reliable equipment is an investment in driver safety and comfort that shows how much K&B values the skill and hard work that their drivers bring to the table.
Driver’s Choice — Midwest-Only or Nationwide Lanes
One of the biggest benefits that K&B drivers enjoy is that they can opt to stay away from the complications of driving on the coasts by keeping to lanes in the Midwest. Drivers can decide to operate over-the-road nationwide, in the Midwest only, or they can choose a dedicated account operating in the upper Midwest.
K&B Transportation was founded in 1987 with just 25 trucks and has grown over the years to become one of the nation’s largest carriers of perishable food products, operating more than 2000 pieces of equipment by 2020.
