Police recently coordinated with a truck driver to ensure that pallets of soup made it into the hands of an Idaho charity group.
The Boise Police Department recently shared the story of “Don” the truck driver, who went out of his way to see that thousands of cans of soup did not go to waste:
It wasn’t just any other night in the City of Boise last night. Among the calls for service was a truck driver needing a little help. He didn’t break down or need to report a crime, he had what turned out to be a donation. There had been a mix up and at 1:00 in the morning he found himself with an extra pallet and a half of soup on his truck. The business he was delivering to couldn’t take it and he needed it unloaded so he could pick up his next delivery. Boise police were happy to direct him to our friends over at Boise Rescue Mission Ministries River of Life where officers and residents worked together to unload what turned out to be 2,160 cans of soup. Thank you for thinking of our community Don. It’s always nice to see good people doing good things for others! We’re just sorry the pictures ended up so blurry.
