The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will be closing down parts of I-70 through Indianapolis for bridge work beginning later this month.

INDOT says that they are accelerating construction projects on I-70 so that the work can be completed before events postponed by the Coronavirus crisis resume. Crews will be patching bridge joints and decks during the project.

According to INDOT, I-70 eastbound from Ronald Reagan Parkway to the South Split will close on May 22. All lanes are scheduled to reopen on June 28.

I-70 westbound from the South Split to Ronald Reagan Parkway will close on June 26. All lanes are set to reopen by July 30.

INDOT says that the interstate closures will remain effect during the Memorial Day and July 4th holiday weekends.
