It’s a mad-scramble to find truck parking on the east coast right now

Published:

Truckers are reporting tough parking situations across the east coast as drivers look to get settled ahead of the incoming winter storm and subsequent travel restrictions.

As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 16th, empty trucks, bobtails, buses, motorcycles, and more are banned from many Pennsylvania and New Jersey roadways as the states prepare for a serious snowstorm. As a result, many truck drivers are finding truck parking even more difficult to come by than usual.

Then, starting at 4 p.m. Pennsylvania will increase its restrictions, limiting travel for most commercial vehicles.

As per usual, truck parking options are limited, and New Jersey officials have even specifically banned parking on highway shoulders.

CDLLife App members have been reporting snowy conditions and tough parking throughout the day, and it will likely only get tougher.

To top it all off, many drivers’ loads have been cancelled or postponed as a result of the impending storm, meaning less money for truck drivers as they wait out the blizzard.

As always, stay safe out there, drivers!
