Man dies after being pinned between trailers during backing accident

Michigan police say that a man lost his life over the weekend during an accident in a business parking lot.

The incident occurred at 12:15 p.m. on November 7 at a business location in the 5000 block of S. Sandusky Road in the Village of Peck, Michigan.

According to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office, “the investigation determined that a 35-year-old male from Caro was driving a semi-tractor hooked up to a trailer in a parking lot at a private business. The male was attempting to back up the semi-tractor and trailer to attach it to a second trailer. While this occurred, a 22-year-old male from Marlette who worked at the business went to assist the male backing up the trailer. While this occurred the 22-year-old male from Marlette ended up getting pinned between the two trailers and the equipment used to connect the two trailers.”

The 22 year old man was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead.

Police say that they are withholding the identities of the people involved pending the investigation.
