Man found dead in crashed big rig had gunshot wound

Texas police are working to learn more about a fatal shooting incident and semi truck crash that occurred in the downtown San Antonio area.

The incident began early Tuesday morning when San Antonio police received calls about a semi truck driving erratically on I-35.

When police officers located the truck, it had rolled over at the intersection of Casa Blanca and Austin Street, near I-35.

The 45 year old man found inside the truck had a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released and it isn’t clear whether he was the driver or a passenger in the truck.

According to local news outlet KSAT, a witness told police that she had been following the truck from San Marcos after it nearly hit her and several other vehicles. The woman said she called 911 and continued to follow the truck. She said that that the truck struck another semi truck but kept going on I-35. The witness said that the truck ran two red lights and by the time she caught up with it, it had rolled over.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
