A man has been indicted on multiple charges related to the death of a truck driver making a delivery to a restaurant in Memphis earlier this year.
Authorities say that 23 year old Tanner Bolding has been indicted on charges of first degree murder and attempt to commit especially aggravated robbery.
The charges stem from a fatal shooting that occurred around 6 a.m. on September 14, 2020, at a Jack Pirtle’s Chicken location at 1217 S. Bellevue in Memphis, Tennessee.
Forty-four year old truck driver Randal Cardwell was making a delivery to the restaurant when he was shot multiple times near the back of his truck.
Cardwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police obtained surveillance video from the scene and spotted a suspect walking towards the rear of Cardwell’s truck, then fleeing the scene in a blue Honda Civic.
An anonymous tip led officers to a residence where they discovered the Honda Civic along with a handgun and spent cartridges.
Bolding was arrested and later admitted to shooting Cardwell during a robbery attempt.
