
A motorist who exited his vehicle to check on an animal in the roadway was killed after he was hit by a truck this morning.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. on November 11 in Rosenberg, Texas.

A man traveling north on US-59 (Southwest Freeway) reportedly stopped on the roadway and got out to try to help an animal that had been hit when he was struck by an oncoming truck.
Police say that the man did not survive the crash.
Authorities say that the truck driver stayed at the scene.
Rosenberg Police have called the incident an accident and, according to ABC 13, there are no plans to press charges at this time.
The incident shut down the roadway for hours, causing major traffic backups. All lanes reopened at 12:20 p.m.
