Mark-It Express acquires Illinois-based trucking company

On Tuesday, Mark-It Express Logistics announced the acquisition of an Illinois trucking company.

Mark-It Express acquired the assets of Mayfield, Illinois-based trucking company Sava Transportation Inc.

Mark-It president and founder Tony Apa said, “the acquisition allows us to offer more flexible and robust solutions to our customers. It also brings us continued diversification of our customer base, increased market share, and the potential for more growth.”

Mark-It says that Sava’s employees will be transitioned to work at Illinois Mark-It locations.

The acquisition will add about 20 trucks to Mark-It’s growing fleet of about 200.

Mark-It also acquired Chicago-based Spirit Express in January 2020.

Mark-It was founded in 2009 and provides third party logistics and intermodal services in the midwest, with terminals in Kansas City, Kansas; Chicago and Lemont, Illinois; and Detroit, Michigan.
