Maserati rear-ends semi truck, killing three

Three men are dead after crashing their Maserati sedan into the back of a Freightliner semi truck. 

The accident happened on Tuesday, October 6th at around 2:00 p.m. near Sturgis, South Dakota. 

According to Cap Journal, a 21-year-old man was driving the 2015 Maserati Ghibli sports sedan along Interstate 90 east when it slammed into the back of a Freightliner Cascadia semi truck. 

The motorist and his two passengers, a 22-year-old-man and a 55-year-old-man, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

The 77-year-old truck driver and his 74-year-old female passenger were uninjured in the incident. 

Officials are still investigating the reasons for the crash and the identities of the deceased have not been released pending notification of family.
