Two men are facing felony charges after attempting to sell a stolen semi truck and fleeing police.
The incident happened over the weekend on Saturday, December 12th in Mendenhall, Mississippi.
According to 16 ABC News, Mendenhall police received a call from a local businessman reporting two men attempting to sell an apparently stolen semi truck.
When officers arrived, the two men had already fled the scene, so officers pursued them down Highway 49. During the pursuit, Bruce Parker, who was a passenger in the rig at the time of the pursuit, jumped from the moving vehicle in an attempt to flee but was soon apprehended by police. He was then transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the semi truck, Tristan Scruggs, continued fleeing police through Mendenhall, Martinville and Magee before finally veering into a wooded area near the Simpson and Covington county line where he abandoned the stolen rig and continued fleeing on foot.
Scruggs was soon apprehended by police and was treated by EMS before being transported to the Simpson County Adult Detention Center.
Both Scruggs and Parker are now facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
