Country music icon and host of popular trucking radio broadcasts Bill Mack has passed away.
Mack passed away on Friday, July 31, at the age of 88 from “COVID-19 with underlying conditions,” according to his son Billy Mack Smith.

While Mack was an inductee in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame as well as a Grammy winner, he was perhaps best known in the trucking industry for his late night radio shows based out of Texas that provided truckers with information and an opportunity to call in to pass the miles.
Mack hosted an overnight radio program for truckers under various names including the “Country Roads Show,” the “Road Show,” and the “Midnight Cowboy Trucking Show.”
