Kentucky police have arrested and charged a man who allegedly opened fire on a moving semi truck.

The Williamsburg Police Department says that they arrested 70 year old Kentucky resident Jerry Melton on Sunday, May 3. Fulton has been issued a single charge of attempted homicide, police say.

Police say that they received a 911 call about a road rage incident involving a black Chevy passenger vehicle and a semi truck on I-75 near mile marker 19 in Whitley County, Kentucky.

Officers observed the Chevy and the semi traveling southbound on I-75 at mile marker 11 and performed a traffic stop on the vehicles.

During the investigation, officers determined that a road rage incident had taken place and that the Chevy driver, later identified as Melton, had fired two shots at the victim’s truck.

Police say that they found two bullet holes near the truck’s sleeper berth area. They also say that they found a handgun in Melton’s car.
