The Ohio State Patrol (OSP) is investigating after a motorist was fatally struck by an overhead highway sign.
The fatal accident happened around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio.
According to OSP, a dump truck with a raised bed was traveling westbound on I-480 when it struck the overhead sign at State Road.
The crash caused the sign to collapse onto a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The pickup driver died as a result of the sign falling on the vehicle.
The Ohio Department of Transportation says that the dump truck had recently left a construction site.
Investigators are trying to determine whether the raised bed was operator error or a mechanical problem.
The crash caused major traffic backups in the area, but all lanes reopened around 11:00 a.m.
