A motorist was killed in an accident with a stopped semi truck in Chicago on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened on Interstate 290 near Bellwood in Chicago, Illinois at around 5:45 a.m. on November 4th.
According to CBS Chicago, a semi truck was parked on the right shoulder of I 290 eastbound near 25th Avenue when a car slammed into the back of it.
The force of the collision wedged the front of the car beneath the trailer, killing the motorist.
Police pronounced the motorist dead on scene, but no other injuries were reported.
The right eastbound lane of I 290 was shut down immediately after the crash for clean-up and investigation, but the highway has since been reopened.
The reason for the crash is not known, and information regarding citations issued in the incident, if any, has not been released.
