Nearly 40 miles of Montana interstate restricted for multiple crashes

The Montana Highway Patrol is asking drivers to steer clear of a major interstate after crashes have blocked traffic in both directions.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, the Montana Highway Patrol called for emergency travel only on I-90 from mile marker 354 at Springdale to mile marker 392 at Reed Point. High winds and blowing snow have been reported in the area.

Troopers say that “severe driving conditions” and multiple crashes have resulted in blockages in both the westbound and eastbound lanes near Greycliff.

The Billings Gazette reports that the crashes involve semi trucks.
