The Southern Nevada Visitor’s Center rest area that is located along U.S. Highway 95, roughly 17 miles south of Searchlight in Clark County has been temporarily shut down.
The rest area was shut down after maintenance crews discovered hundreds of bees swarming the faucets, toilets, and other facilities.
“NDOT crews are working diligently to quickly resolve this issue,” says NDOT spokesman Tony Illia. “It’s important to make this rest area safe and accessible once again for motorists.”
NDOT said that the rest area will remain closed until it can safety reopen. The department has advised travelers to check the navigation app Waze for information on reopening.
